Not sure what to make of the current race to become London mayor. Ken is being portrayed as rather less than scrupulous, whilst Boris is a buffoon. The latter is interviewed in this month's Regenerate magazine, which is dubbed the sustainability issue. He comes out green, although it doesn't quite feel like it's from the heart.
He does his best, saying that "I love London, and I want it to be here long after I'm gone". Policy-wise he argues for more flexible targets on renewables for new development, which the industry has been consistently crying out for for some years. He's also a fan of preservation - "We seem to be in the grip of barbarians who are determined to knock down venerable buildings – Victorian police stations and swimming baths – when people’s instinct is to preserve and restore."
