Couple of interesting bits of news on the biomass front:
- Listed firm Helius Energy is building a 65MW biomass power plant in Stallingborough, North East Lincolnshire. The firm has hired two firms, McBurney Corporation and Morgan Est, to work on the pre-engineering works on the scheme, according to a statement on the Stock Exchange this morning. Helius claims when in use the plant will save around half a million tonnes of CO2 a year.
- A new scheme is due to be launched tomorrow in Yorkshire to encourage local businesses to install biomass boilers, according to a local report. The scheme is being overseen by local group called Yorwoods.
Oh and there's also a new magazine out in the US dedicated to biomass, called (you guessed it) Biomass Magazine.
