What is Zero Champion?
Half of the world's energy is used to build, heat, light and ventilate our buildings.
Reducing this in the future is the challenge facing the development and construction industries globally.
This site is the hub for professionals to debate the issues that surround the commissioning, design construction and running of buildings to ensure the right decisions are made now for future development.
Zero Champion aims to assess current practice and thinking and to question and probe the status quo. Not in a po-faced fashion but with a wry view and a light touch.
The site was launched in January 2007 by Phil Clark, digital community editor at the Builder Group, the UK's leading and best publisher of business magaziness for the property and construction industries.
Phil has been with the firm for seven years. He was most recently the launch editor of QS News and before that deputy editor at Building magazine. While at Building he was twice shortlisted for the prestigious Periodical Publishers Association's business journalist of the year. He won the International Buildign Press news journailst of the year in 2005.
He believes there is real momentum for change from both outside and within the industry to improve the efficiency of both existing and new buildings.
