Last minute thinking
Final preparations for next week's Think 08 event - writing speeches, preparing notes for fellow speakers etc etc. I'll be chairing four sessions at the conference on Wednesday and Thursday at ExCeL, including three discussion panels, which should be challenging. I've been mugging up on the great energy debate, ridding the industry's waste mountain and the skills challenge, no mean feats. All should be good discussions, especially the first and last ones.
Until Thursday's election energy was dominating headlines, what with strikes, surging oil prices and Shell pulling out of a new wind development. All pretty good basis for a lively debate with fellow bloggers Casey Cole, Robert Kyriakides as well as BAA head of energy Richard Cox, Angus Norman from EDF and Fulcrum Consulting founding director Richard Shennan.
On the skills side there's an interesting mix of speakers, including primary school headmaster Richard Dunne whom I met last month and blogged about as well as industry speakers such as Trevor Butler from BDP and Gill Taylor from the Academy for Sustainable Communities.
If you're not able to make it to the conference I'm also meeting a few sustainable/construction bloggers at the end of the first day. Feel free to email me if you're interested in coming along.

The energy debate was really stimulating with some good points raised by the audience; thanks for the invite to talk - I really enjoyed it.
